"First time having to file a claim due to someone throwing a rock off an overpass while I was driving on the interstate and it crashed through the sunroof of my BMW. Filed a police report and was told by State Farm that it was comprehensive so it would be covered with zero deductible and wouldn’t increase my rates. We are now three weeks in, they will only cover part of the damage repair leaving me close to $2500 out of pocket. They sent one check to an old address we haven’t lived at in 4 years (mind you my bills come to my current address every month without fail). My car won’t be released since the service provider hasn’t received their check (who knows where that was sent or how long it will take to get there). Meanwhile, I have had to pay for a rental every day at $60/day with no end in sight. The service provider says they have tried and tried to reach out to State Farm, as have I, and we sit on hold waiting for a call to be answered for 45+ minutes to get disconnected or we are told they can’t help us; emails, texts, voicemails and messages go unanswered, and they refuse to provide any assistance. They are quick to close a claim without ANY resolution. My rates keep going up, but when you try to actual use what you are paying for, you get screwed and ignored. Seems like fraud to me especially when they refuse to talk to you or your service provider who wants to submit a revised estimate to help with coverage. Luckily insurance is a competitive market and enough people can choose to go somewhere else."
